Young people living, working or going to school in Hindmarsh Shire who want the opportunity to do more for the people in the community are encouraged to nominate for the 2025 Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council.
The Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council meets every month to plan and run events such as live music events, outdoor cinemas, pool parties, skate competitions and practical training opportunities. The Youth Council works on Community projects like murals, mental health awareness activities and the school holidays program, and ensures that young people are seen and heard and have a say in the decisions that affect them.
“Being a part of the Youth Council has provided me a great way to get involved in my community”.
- Youth Councillor Cooper Stasinowsky
“Being a Youth Councillor has opened up many opportunities for the present as well as the future”.
- Youth Councillor Lilly Williams The Youth Council was established in May 2015 and comprises twelve members, plus the recipient of Hindmarsh Shire Council’s Youth of the Year.
