For the first time, the Wimmera Steampunk Festival is spreading its wings with significant events in the Yarriambiack and West Wimmera Shires to complement the signature street party in Dimboola.
The West Wimmera Shire will host an already sold-out High Tea and special passenger train at the Serviceton railway station on the day after the street party, and the Yarriambiack Shire will get the festival started with a gala opening night.
This launch event will be at the General Store in Warracknabeal on the 5th April.
The evening will feature a Flight of Fantasy, an exhibition featuring two hundred and thirty miniature hot air balloons, each crafted by school children, showcasing vibrant, colourful creations that will soar with the dreams of tomorrow’s visionaries.
The event includes a sultry burlesque performance by DeeDee Lightning, who mesmerises with her sequined outfit and hypnotic dance, blending elegance and sensuality. As jazz pulses, she reveals her tattooed skin and confident presence, leaving a lingering sense of desire.
Digital art from Ben Fowler, renowned for his surrealist works as 4th Perspective, and emerging Thai artist Preme Worrakan will adorn the walls of The General.
