Work to upgrade the facilities at the Nhill Trailer Exchange has been completed.

The scope of the project was to deliver safe and accessible female toilets at the heavy vehicle rest stop on Western Highway west of Nhill, and it has delivered two dedicated female toilets, in addition to the current male and unisex accessible facilities.

The $530,000 project commenced in May and was completed ahead of schedule in June.

The Western Highway is the main road transport route between Melbourne and Adelaide, and in the Nhill region, sees more than 1,500 trucks each day

The Nhill Trailer Exchange was established to provide a safe location away from the built-up area of Nhill for truck drivers to exchange trailers and return to their home city.
